Significant voluntary commitment also in the pandemic year 2020 - Nayla Stössel new President of Swiss Volunteers

On the 15th of April 2021, the General Assembly of Swiss Volunteers adopts the annual report and the positive annual result for 2020. Ruedi Kuenz steps down from the Board after over six years as President and hands over his office. Nayla Stössel becomes President of Swiss Volunteers and Menduri Kasper is newly elected to the Board.

Despite the prevailing circumstances, around 30 events in the sports and cultural sectors were successfully administered via the Swiss Volunteers platform in 2020. Just over 2,000 volunteers were involved in the events. Together, they achieved 90,757 hours of voluntary work. These figures are taken from the annual report of Swiss Volunteers, which was presented and approved at the fourth ordinary general meeting. The meeting was produced in the modern studio of the long-standing main partner gazenergie and was therefore held digitally.

After more than six years in the office of President, Ruedi Kuenz says goodbye to the Board of Swiss Volunteers and is given a fitting send-off. He leaves behind a prosperous organisation that will face future challenges with great strength. Nayla Stössel, the current Vice-President, was elected as the new President of Swiss Volunteers and warmly welcomed to her new position by the General Assembly.  Menduri Kasper, Managing Director of the Engadin Skimarathon and member of SwissTopSport, is newly elected to the Board. Together with Markus Lehmann, a former member of the board, they form the new three-member committee.

About Swiss Volunteers: The national non-profit organisation Swiss Volunteers and the volunteer management platform are aimed at people who would like to get involved on a voluntary basis, as well as event organisers who can only hold their events thanks to volunteers and who would like to better plan and appreciate the commitment of their volunteers.
